The brief was centred around the diverse needs of a growing family, with flexible outdoor spaces being central to the design.
Several multi-purpose spaces were created including a garden room doubling as a home office and an outdoor woodland area for either dining or entertaining friends. The long vista down the garden culminated in a productive garden with space for an orchard and vegetable/flower beds set around a large greenhouse which could be enjoyed as a summerhouse. The garden zones were partially divided by dry stone walls inspired by local stone and planting was inspired by nearby woodland common land.
