A concept garden for a boutique winery in Surrey.
An aromatic courtyard offers visitors the chance to relax by water features, surrounding by a planting scheme inspired by the aromas and colours of wine. Informal zoning is achieved with apple espaliers and vines to enhance the sense of ‘place’. The design merges the geometry of the house with tendril-like beds planted with grasses and perennials to provide a diaphanous screen and to permit a view of the outlook beyond. The outdoor 'rooms' are ideal for drinks or outdoor dining. The scheme extended into the parkland to incorporate woodland walks with an emphasis on wellbeing and relaxation, including wine tasting. The whole experience leaves the visitor with a real sense of renovation and relaxation.
